Sharqi

The Sharqi or classical form originates in the Golden Age of Islam and the Otterman period when dance was practised to a high standard under royal patronage in the coursts and wealthy households. Courtly or ancient classical is a refined and statuesque form or the dance, whereas modern classical emotes the drama and complexity of the music of some of the 20th century's most respected Egyptian composers.
